From October 25 - 26, 2014, Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary graduate Archpriest Victor Potapov and about 100 parishioners from St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington DC made an annual pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery to visit the grave of Jose Muñoz-Cortes, keeper of the myrrh-streaming “Montreal” Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. Joining the pilgrims for their annual pilgrimage was His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah (retired-OCA), and the myrrh-streaming "Hawaiian" Iveron Icon of the Mother of God.

On Saturday, the pilgrims from Washington DC arrived at Holy Trinity Monastery and served a panikhida by the grave of Jose Muñoz-Cortes with the myrhh-streaming icon, Metropolitan Hilarion, and Metropolitan Jonah. Following the panikhida, the pilgrims gathered in the monastery trapeza to enjoy a meal with the brothers of the monastery and seminarians. After the meal, everyone met at 6:50 pm in the Cathedral to greet the myrrh-streaming "Hawaiian" Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. 

On Sunday, Metropolitan Hilarion officiated the Divine Liturgy  and co-celebrated with Metropolitan Jonah, more than 10 priests and four deacons. There were over 200 communicants.

Metropolitan Jonah delivered a homily about the 7th Ecumenical Council, which officially affirmed the veneration of icons in the Church.  He spoke about the deeper spiritual meaning of an icon, explaining how Orthodox Christians should transform themselves to become living icons of Christ. 

Following the Liturgy, pilgrims enjoyed lunch in the trapeza and served another panikhida at Brother Jose's grave before they traveled back to Washington DC.
