Deacon Michael Pavuk, Director of Development, traveled to the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign on April 26 for a presentation to the Synod of Bishops on the “State of the Seminary” on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Administration, Faculty, and students of Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville.

Two days later he represented the Seminary at a panakhida, served by His Grace, Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, to mark the 75th anniversary of the repose of Sergei Rachmaninoff, the renowned Russian composer, pianist, and conductor (1873-1943). The panakhida was served at Rachmaninoff’s gravesite at Kinsico Cemetery in Valhala, NY.

On Sunday, April 29, Igumen Theophylact (Clapper-Dewell), Lecturer in Biblical Archaeology at the Seminary, and Deacon Michael represented the Seminary for the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Sign in New York City to mark the tenth anniversary of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion’s election as First Hierarch of ROCOR. His Eminence received a pectoral cross and two Panagias for which clergy and faithful of the Eastern American Diocese had contributed. Following the Liturgy, the Yale Russian Chorus gave a concert during the banquet in honor of His Eminence.
