Protodeacon Andrei Psarev is the Professor of Canon Law and Russian Church History and the Director of Undergraduate Studies at Holy Trinity Seminary, as well as an alumnus from the class of 1995. 

Over the course of the last several months, in addition to fulfilling his significant teaching responsibilities at the seminary, Fr Andrei has increased his ongoing efforts to bring awareness of the history of the ROCOR to many people,  far beyond his seminary classroom.

Last fall, Fr Andrei organized an academic conference in Belgrade, Serbia to mark the 100th anniversary of ROCOR. The conference, which ran from November 22-25, 2021, and was entitled “Links between Times: Conclusions and Perspectives” included many papers presented on the past and present of the ROCOR. In January, Fr Andrei gave two webinars (one in English and one in Russian) which were sponsored by ROCOR’s Fund for Assistance and hosted by the FFA’s Alana Plavsic that were entitled: “Everything you ever wondered about ROCOR’s history and traditions”  These webinars can be viewed here.

On March 1, Fr Andrei followed up these efforts by speaking to the seminary faculty and student body about the entire experience of the conference in Serbia the previous November.

The Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR is holding its Northern Lenten Clergy Retreat at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville from March 28-30, followed in several weeks by the Southern retreat at St Mary of Egypt Church in Roswell, GA, which is scheduled to run from April 12-14. Protodeacon Andrei has been invited to give the main lecture at both retreats entitled; “Pivotal Points of the History of the Russian Church Abroad”.
